It is a medical order given by the doctor according to the patient's will which informs hospitals and other healthcare providers that the patient does not require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in case the patient's heart stops beating. Basically, it is an order that says "I want to die in peace, so don't bring me back to life."
