最強女子ロンダ・ラウジーにKO勝ちした新王者ホルム、防衛戦は「ロンダではない別の相手」に決定か 過去の超絶パンチ映像も話題

女子最強といわれたロンダ・ラウジーを見事にKOして一躍「時の人」となったUFC世界女子バンタム級王者ホーリー・ホルム。「彼女の次の対戦相手はロンダ・ラウジーではない」とUFCのデイナ・ホワイト社長が明言した。


ホルムの防衛戦に関しては、「ロンダ・ラウジーとの再戦」という声が上がっていた一方、ロンダは前の試合の勝敗の結果に関係なく長期休業に入ることを明言していたが、初防衛戦の対戦相手はやはり別の選手になるという。

11月の衝撃的なKO劇から去就が注目されているロンダだが、UFC側の強い提案だった7月の復帰戦を見送っている。新王者ホルムの防衛戦は別の対戦相手と行われ、皆が注目しているビックマッチ「ホーリー・ホルムVSロンダ・ラウジー2」はその後に大々的に行われるという見込みだ。

ちなみにホルムの勝利以降、MMAマニアの間で一気に拡散された映像がある。5年前まだ無名だったホルムが、チャンピオンになりたてのジョン・ジョーンズとのスパーリングで強烈なパンチを放つものだ。昨年、追突事故にマリファナ吸引など次々と問題が発覚し、ライト級タイトルを剥奪されたジョーンズの復帰と女子王者ホルムの防衛。この2人のカードはUFC2016年前半の目玉となりそうだ。
